Canning

So this last week my mom and I have been doing some canning again. On Monday Jennifer and Madison came over and we canned about 80 pounds of pears. Let me just tell you that our hands hurt from pealing and our kitchen was very sticky! It was fun though we had a great time. Work is always better with a friend. A few days prior to canning the pears we canned pickles! This was a much easier and cleaner process. Our whole family loves pickles so we'll see how long these last.
During all of our canning this year my mom and I have discussed the canning that my Grandma did every year. This is pretty close to how it went for her.
Green Beans, Pickles, Pears, Peaches, Cherries, Plums, Chokechery juice, June berry juice, and Apples - apple sauce - pie in a jar - and crabapples. Wow! I very often got to reap the benefits of her hard work but not until recently did I really realize the work that went into all of that. All I can say is Thanks
